Extension to 90% of Hampshire by 2015

Phase One (January-June 2014)

Phase One of Hampshire Superfast Broadband Programme is due to be completed by the end of June 2014.

New equipment will be installed across parts of Basingstoke and Dean, Gosport, Hart, and the New Forest, enabling more than 6,000 premises to have access to superfast broadband. Speeds will be a minimum of 24Mbps, although more than 4,740 premises will be able to access more than 50Mbps.

Phase Two (April-August 2014)

PhasIe Two of the programme will start in April 2014 and once completed, by the end of September 2014, more than 9,000 additional premises will be able to access superfast broadband speeds.

The programme will visit Ashurst, Basingstoke, Cadnam, Downton, Fawley, Gosport, Hythe, Lee-On-Solent, Lockerley, Long Sutton, Lymington, Lyndhurst, Milford-On-Sea, Odiham, Overton, Romsey, Totton, and Wellow, and enable 56 roadside cabinets during the six months to September 2014.

Working with our neighbours in Wiltshire we have managed to bring forward delivery of Superfast services for the villages of Woodgreen and Braemore in the New Forest by 12 months.

Phase Three (July-December 2014)

11,170 additional homes and businesses, which would otherwise be excluded, will be able to enjoy the benefits of superfast connection thanks to the deployment of Phase 3 of Hampshire Superfast Broadband Programme.

New equipment will be installed in the following areas: Lockerley, Lymington, Milford-On-Sea, Brockenhurst, Sway, Liphook, Headley Down, Alton, Tisted, Selborne and Herriard.

Phase Four (October 2014 - March 2015)

Rural parts of East Hampshire, Winchester, Basingstoke and the New Forest will be able to benefit from high-speed broadband, as Phase Four of Hampshire’s Superfast Broadband Programme is set to provide access to an additional 10,500 homes and businesses between October 2014 and March 2015.

Phase Four of the multi-million pound project will see fibre broadband cabinets switched on in the rural areas of: Havant, Hayling Island, Liss, Petersfield, Alresford, Bransgore, Sopley, Burley, New Milton, Itchen Abbas, Hordle, Barton On Sea, Ringwood, Greatham, Ball Hill, Woolton Hill, Highclere, Headley, Kingsclere and Yateley.

Phase Five (January 2015 - June 2015)

BT Openreach are now working on Phase 5 of the County Council’s programme, which is set to benefit a further 15,000 homes and businesses.  It will see broadband cabinets switched on in the rural areas of: Aldershot, Andover, Chilworth, Binsted, Bucks Horn Oak, Lower Froyle, Bentley, Bishops Waltham, Blackwater, Chandlers Ford, Ewshot, Crondall, Eastleigh, Fareham, Farnborough, Grateley, Hamble, Netley Abbey, Hambledon, Hartley Wintney, Heckfield, Rowlands Castle, Nursling, Rownhams, Silchester, Pamber Heath, Shipton Bellinger, Titchfield, Over Wallop, Middle Wallop, Fyfield, Thruxton, Penton Mewsey and Wickham.
